Description

This illustrated envelope is a First Day Cover (FDC) dedicated to Auguste Renoir, as indicated by the words "PREMIER JOUR D'ÉMISSION" (First Day of Issue) at the top left and the commemorative postmark "EXPOSITION RENOIR 06 CAGNES-SUR-MER 11-12 DEC. 1965". The main face features a reproduction of Renoir's famous painting "Portrait de Coco", with a colored illustration depicting a child in profile against a light background, typical of the painter's soft and luminous style.

The envelope bears two stamps, the most visible of which is also related to Renoir, accompanied by two perfectly legible round black postmarks featuring a stylized portrait of the painter and the exhibition date. The text printed under the illustration reads "PORTRAIT DE COCO d'après A. Renoir" (PORTRAIT OF COCO after A. Renoir). The First Day Cover number, "N° 551A", appears at the top left, reinforcing the official nature of this philatelic issue.
