Description

Illustrated philatelic envelope, visible under a transparent plastic sleeve, from a "First Day of Issue" (FDC – First Day Cover) dated June 7, 1969. This envelope commemorates the battles of Mont Mouchet in Auvergne during World War II. On the front, a color illustration depicts the Mont Mouchet monument, with two sculpted figures and the FFI (French Forces of the Interior) insignia engraved on the base. A red and gold coat of arms is also printed on the right side of the illustration.

Two round postmarks are clearly visible, bearing the inscription "COMBATS DU MONT MOUCHET PREMIER JOUR 7 JUIN 1969 15. SAINT-FLOUR," as well as a stylized symbol resembling the FFI logo. The postage stamp corresponding to this issue is properly affixed, although partially obscured by the sleeve, confirming the philatelic nature of this FDC envelope.

The envelope bears the red inscription "PREMIER JOUR D’ÉMISSION No 665 HISTORIQUE – F.D.C." at the top right, and "MONUMENT DU MONT MOUCHET MAQUIS D’AUVERGNE" below the illustration. The illustrator's signature, "H. Sion," is visible on the left side of the drawing. A red "Philatelie" stamp is also printed at the bottom left.

Only one side is visible; the back and internal contents are not visible in the photo. A handwritten label with the number "126" is present on the plastic sleeve, with no further indication.

The overall condition appears good on the observed side: colors are vibrant, printing is sharp, and no major tears or stains are visible through the sleeve, although a slight creasing of the plastic is perceptible.
