Description

Illustrated commemorative envelope, issued on the occasion of the European philatelic twinning between Hanover and Perpignan, dated May 4 and 5, 1963. The visible side features a rich graphic composition, centered on a color illustration combining heraldic coats of arms, a tricolor ribbon, a stylized equestrian statue, and an architectural representation. The visible coats of arms notably include those of Perpignan and Hanover, symbolizing the event.

In the upper right, a canceled French stamp is visible, accompanied by a legible circular postmark: "JUMELAGE PHILATELIQUE 4-5 MAI 63 PERPIGNAN" (PHILATELIC TWINNING MAY 4-5 63 PERPIGNAN). A second stamp, predominantly red and gold, also appears on the front. The mention "RF POSTES" is visible on the main stamp.

The date "4-5 MAI 1963" (MAY 4-5 1963) is printed in blue on the upper right part of the envelope. The graphics highlight heraldic colors (yellow, red, white, blue) with clear outlines and a neat arrangement, typical of first-day or commemorative envelopes from the 1960s.
