First Day Cover June 18, 1960 Paris FDC Commemorative Philately
AFW - Antique France Worldwide
Description
First Day Cover (FDC) visible in the photo, associated with French philately. On the displayed side, there is a central illustration representing a stylized microphone surrounded by a tricolor cockade, clearly evoking the commemoration of the Appeal of June 18, 1940. The mention "HISTORICAL FIRST DAY OF ISSUE" is printed at the top right, reinforcing the commemorative nature of this envelope.
Two round postmarks "PREMIER JOUR PARIS 18 JUIN 1960" are clearly visible, attesting to the cancellation on the 20th anniversary of the Appeal of June 18. The envelope bears a French postage stamp, the design of which corresponds to a historical motif (precise detail not legible in the photo). Below the illustration, a text in blue and red recalls the event: "18 JUIN 1940 TO ALL FRENCH PEOPLE" followed by the famous quote "France has lost a battle! She has not lost the war!".
The blue "First Day of Issue" logo is affixed at the bottom left, typical of official French FDCs. The envelope is protected by a transparent plastic sleeve, which keeps its surface intact and prevents marks or traces of handling.
The overall presentation is neat, with a marked contrast between the blue, white, and red colors, reinforcing its patriotic and historical character. The handwritten number or price "10F" appears on a small white square glued to the bottom right.
Condition
Used item, sold as is. The envelope appears in very good visual condition, with no apparent folds or tears on the displayed side. The plastic packaging offers additional protection against moisture and dust.
