Description

This illustrated envelope is a first day commemorative cover, dedicated to "Nature Protection" and more specifically to flamingos in the Camargue. On the front, there is a colorful visual representing several flamingos in a marsh landscape, typical of the Camargue. The illustration, signed "Edition I.F.", features shades of pink, white, and green, highlighting the naturalist theme. The title "European Nature Year – Flamingo" is clearly legible on the postmark.

The visible stamp, to the right of the envelope, also features the flamingo motif. Two round "Premier Jour 21 MARS 1970 PARIS" postmarks are affixed to the front, confirming the issue date and the philatelic nature of the cover. The envelope bears the inscription "PREMIER JOUR D’ÉMISSION – FIRST DAY COVER" as well as a handwritten label "10F" glued under the postmark, probably a historical price or tariff reference. The whole is presented in a transparent plastic sleeve, preserving the overall condition of the item.
