Description

Illustrated First Day Cover (FDC) dedicated to the Anthurium, issued in 1973. The visible side features a large color illustration depicting several anthurium flowers on a black background, framed by a gold border. The envelope bears a legible commemorative postmark "ANTHURIUM MARTINIQUE PREMIER JOUR 20 JANVIER 1973 FORT-DE-FRANCE," as well as a "FIRST DAY COVER" cancellation and the matching stamp. The design is enhanced by the typographical indication "PREMIER JOUR D’ÉMISSION" in French and English.

The stamp and the illustration are perfectly coordinated, highlighting the floral motif. The envelope is presented in a transparent plastic sleeve, ensuring the preservation of the illustrated side. A handwritten label "10 F" is affixed to the lower right corner of the protective plastic.

The observed general condition of the visible side is clean, with no apparent stains or creases on the envelope itself. The First Day postmark and inscriptions are clear. No major defects are visible on the exposed area. Only one side of the envelope is visible, the back is not shown in the photo.

The graphic style, typography, and floral subject clearly place the item within the philatelic context of the 1970s. The mention "FORT-DE-FRANCE" indicates an origin linked to Martinique, reinforced by the exotic theme of the anthurium.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. Visible side in good condition, under plastic protection. No major apparent defects on the exposed area.
