Description

First Day Cover (FDC) dedicated to Eugène Delacroix, visible in a transparent protective plastic sleeve. On the front, a color illustration depicts Delacroix's famous painting "Liberty Leading the People," with a golden border inlay. The image shows a stylized portrait of Liberty, wearing a red Phrygian cap, her gaze turned to the left. Below the illustration is the inscription "LA LIBERTE guidant le peuple" and the signature "Eugène DELACROIX" in the upper left.

On the right side of the envelope, several clear cancellation marks are visible, including a round postmark bearing the inscription "LIBERTE" and the first day of issue. Also visible are the inscriptions "PREMIER JOUR D’EMISSION" and "FIRST DAY COVER" in English, confirming the philatelic nature of the mailing. Several postage stamps are affixed to the upper right, including one bearing the effigy of Liberty, in harmony with the envelope's theme. A handwritten or printed insert indicates the value "2F."

The whole presents a clean visual appearance, protected by a plastic sleeve, indicating a concern for preservation. The background of the envelope is white, and the graphic composition highlights the iconography of Delacroix's painting as well as the philatelic elements. No other back or interior is visible in the photo.

The texts and illustrations are clear and legible, with a beautiful reproduction of the artwork. The postmarks and stamps, well-centered, enhance the appeal of this envelope for collectors of thematic philately or French art.
