Illustrated first day cover (FDC) dedicated to the Battle of Bouvines and dated September 5, 1966. The visible side features a colorful illustration depicting the historical scene of the battle, with medieval architectural details and period-costumed figures. The illustration occupies the upper left part of the envelope, accompanied by explanatory text printed at the bottom left.

At the top, the words "PREMIER JOUR D'ÉMISSION" (FIRST DAY OF ISSUE) appear in red, followed by "HISTORIQUE F.D.C." and the number "No 681". Two round postmarks are visible on the right side, bearing the inscription "PHILIPPE AUGUSTE PREMIER JOUR 5.9.1966 BOUVINES", accompanied by a stylized portrait of King Philip Augustus. A black and white stamp on the theme of the battle is affixed next to the postmarks. The entire piece is protected by a transparent plastic sleeve.

The envelope displays a typical FDC (First Day Cover) layout: historical illustration, commemorative postmarks, and a stamp associated with the event.
