Description

This illustrated envelope is a First Day Cover (FDC) dedicated to Francis I, King of France, visible on the colored stamp affixed to the right. The stamp features a portrait of Francis I after Jean Clouet, in predominantly beige, black, red, and gold tones. The envelope bears a postmark dated "16 COGNAC" in 1974, corresponding to the city of Cognac, the King's birthplace.
