Description

Illustrated First Day Cover, visible inside a transparent protective sleeve. The item features a color illustration depicting a landscape of the town of La Bourboule, with a panoramic view and a tree in the foreground. The inscription "LA BOURBOULE" appears on the left side of the envelope, while at the top right, one can read "PREMIER JOUR D’ÉMISSION F.D.C." (First Day of Issue F.D.C.) and "PHILATÉLIE" (Philately). A round postmark, with a legible date and part of the text, confirms the First Day cancellation.

On the partially visible stamp, a red locomotive motif can be seen, typical of French railway-themed issues. The cancellation bears the inscription "MOUTY PRESENT" and a partially legible date ("14..."). A small handwritten label indicates "10F" in the bottom right corner, likely an old face value or selling price.

The back and inside of the envelope are not visible in the photo. The item is protected by a transparent plastic sleeve, which shows some reflections and creases but does not appear to affect the visual condition of the document. The colors of the illustration remain vibrant, and the inscriptions are generally legible on the presented side.

This type of envelope, known as an FDC (First Day Cover), is specially issued on the first day a stamp is released, with commemorative illustration and a specific postmark. The item is aimed at thematic philately, particularly around spa towns and French railway heritage.

The careful presentation and the presence of the plastic sleeve ensure good preservation of the illustrated side, with no apparent stains or discoloration on the visible part.

Condition

Used item, sold as is, well-protected in a plastic sleeve. No tears, stains, or major defects visible on the illustrated side. Reflections in the photo are from the plastic protection.

Did you know? First Day Covers (FDC) have been issued for every significant stamp issue in France since 1944. They include a special postal cancellation with the date and place of issue, making them a preferred medium for regional or event-based themes in philately.

AFW Reassurance

Careful packaging and fast shipping are guaranteed by a professional seller. The envelope will be sent with appropriate protection to preserve its condition.
