This First Day Cover commemorates the 25^th anniversary of the Liberation of Deportees. The visible side features a colorful illustration depicting the liberation of prisoners by Allied soldiers, with a tank and arms outstretched towards the liberators, in a dynamic and symbolic staging. The illustration is surrounded by a scalloped golden border, typical of French commemorative issues from the second half of the 20^th century.

To the right of the envelope is a franked postage stamp, topped with a First Day postmark dated June 25, 1970, in Strasbourg. The postmark bears the inscription "25e ANNIVERSAIRE DE LA LIBÉRATION DES DÉPORTÉS" (25th ANNIVERSARY OF THE LIBERATION OF DEPORTEES), with a stylized central motif evoking raised hands, consistent with the main visual. The inscription "PREMIER JOUR D’ÉMISSION – FIRST DAY COVER" is printed in red below the main illustration.
