Description

This first-day philatelic envelope commemorates the 17th National Convention of the Lions Clubs of France, held in Deauville on May 24, 25, and 26, 1968. The item presented here is a white envelope, the visible side of which bears a distinctive commemorative postmark, stamped in black ink and adorned with the official logo of Lions Clubs International. The postmark reads "XVIIe Convention Nationale des LIONS-CLUBS DE FRANCE – 24, 25, 26 mai 1968 – DEAUVILLE".

A French postage stamp on a red and white background, surmounted by a circular "DEAUVILLE 1968" cancellation, is affixed to the upper right part of the envelope. The stamp also features a blue Lions Clubs International sticker pasted over it, a characteristic element of special editions for events.

The typewritten address at the bottom right reads: "SCO... 25, Rue Ca... PARIS 18e", with a part obscured by an added label bearing the handwritten inscription "6F". The envelope is presented in a protective plastic sleeve, placed on a black support, which highlights its general condition and protects the surface from marks and dust.

The paper has a smooth, clear surface, with no apparent decoration other than the official inscriptions. The visual is typical of first-day covers issued during national conventions or events, with a sober and formal presentation, characteristic of French event philately of the 1960s.

Condition

Used item sold as is. The visible side shows no major stains or prominent creases. The envelope is kept in a sleeve, which limits exposure to air and dust. Some light traces or handling marks may be present, with no major apparent defects on the visible side.
