Description

This First Day Cover (FDC) features a stamp issued for Martinique, highlighting "Plage du Diamant" (Diamond Beach). On the visible side, a large illustrated stamp occupies the upper left corner, depicting a coastal landscape with palm trees and the sea under a blue sky, accompanied by the mentions "MARTINIQUE" and "Plage du Diamant". The visual is framed by a golden border with scalloped edges.

Two round official postmarks are clearly visible. They bear the inscription "MARTINIQUE ROCHER DU DIAMANT" and the date "PREMIER JOUR 18-8-1970", confirming the issue on the first day of cancellation. The central motif of the postmark represents the famous Rocher du Diamant (Diamond Rock), an emblematic site of the island. A second stamp, positioned to the right, features a colorful illustration (difficult to describe in detail without invention, but marine or tropical motifs seem consistent with the theme).

The inscription "PREMIER JOUR D’ÉMISSION – FIRST DAY COVER" as well as bilingual inscriptions are printed in the lower left part of the envelope. The whole is presented under transparent plastic protection, which preserves the surface condition. A small handwritten insert "10F" is visible at the bottom right, probably a previous price annotation.

The visible surface of the envelope shows a clean appearance, without major folds or apparent stains, although slight marks and reflections due to the plastic protection are observable in the photo. No other elements or verso are visible in this image.
