First Day Cover Nice Centenary Annexation France Philately
AFW - Antique France Worldwide
Description
Illustrated First Day Cover (FDC) commemorating the centenary of the County of Nice's annexation to France. The visible side features a colorful illustration, dominated by blue, red, and black tones, depicting a panorama of the port of Nice with recognizable architectural elements, including a tower and the Mediterranean coastline. The illustration bears the inscription "Centenaire rattachement Comté de Nice à la France" (Centenary of the annexation of the County of Nice to France).
Two stamps are affixed to the envelope: one red, adorned with a classic female profile, and the other brown, illustrated with a portrait. Both stamps bear perfectly legible round postmarks: "PREMIER JOUR RATTACHEMENT NICE A LA FRANCE 14 MARS 60 NICE" (First Day ANNEXATION NICE TO FRANCE MARCH 14 60 NICE). A blue stamp is also visible in the upper right corner.
The inscription "PREMIER JOUR D’ÉMISSION F.D.C." (First Day of Issue F.D.C.) appears in the upper right, confirming that it is a First Day Cover (FDC), a format prized by philatelists for its commemorative and historical significance. The envelope is protected in a transparent plastic sleeve, ensuring the preservation of the visible side.
The visual highlights the graphic details and print quality, with a strong contrast between the illustrated area and the rest of the material. No major defects are visible on the presented side, apart from some reflections due to the protective sleeve. A small handwritten label "1of" is in the lower right corner.
All visible inscriptions and illustrations give this envelope a historical and aesthetic dimension, ideal for complementing a thematic collection on French philately or national commemorations.
Condition
Used item sold as is. The visible side appears in good condition, without major signs of wear, protected by a plastic sleeve. Slight reflections on the plastic; no apparent alteration on the envelope itself on the side shown.
