This illustrated envelope is a First Day Cover (FDC) dedicated to Paris-Orly Airport, dated February 25, 1961, as evidenced by the visible postmarks. On the front, a detailed blue drawing features an airplane flying over the new airport infrastructure, accompanied by the inscription “Inauguration de l’aéroport de Paris-Orly” (Inauguration of Paris-Orly Airport). The visual, in a typical early 1960s graphic style, highlights the modern architecture of the era and the rise of commercial aviation.

In the upper right corner, the postage stamp also features an airplane and a motif evoking civil aviation. It bears the inscription “République Française” (French Republic) and a clearly visible face value.
