Description

First Day Cover philatelic envelope, visible in a transparent plastic sleeve. This envelope is franked with three French stamps depicting Marianne's profile in purple, red, and brown tones. The franking is completed by a stamp with a face value indicating "30 F". All stamps bear a clear and legible postmark from the "Service Philatélique des P.T.T. 61483 Douai", dated September 19, 1979. The round postmark also mentions "Premier Jour d’Émission" (First Day of Issue) and "F.D.C." (First Day Cover).

The bottom left part of the envelope features a color illustration, framed with a golden border, depicting a dynamic artistic scene inspired by classical painting. The inscription "Modèle Déposé Exclusivité O.P.F." appears at the bottom of this illustration. The whole demonstrates particular care in presentation and printing, typical of commemorative envelopes distributed during special philatelic issues.

The visible side shows no major defects. The envelope appears to be in good overall condition, protected in its original sleeve, which limits the appearance of handling marks or stains. The colors of the stamps and the illustration remain vibrant and contrasting. No folds, tears, or yellowing are observable on the visible part of the item.

Official and artistic inscriptions are perfectly legible on the shown side. No details are visible regarding the back or the interior contents of the envelope, in accordance with the presentation in the photo.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. Presence of a transparent protective sleeve. The visible envelope and stamps appear to be in very good condition.

Did you know? "First Day" envelopes or FDC (First Day Cover) are issued to commemorate the official release of a new postage stamp. The "Premier Jour" (First Day) postmark certifies that the envelope was cancelled on the day of issue, making it a privileged medium for philately enthusiasts wishing to keep an authentic record of the postal event.
