Description

This illustrated envelope is a "First Day Cover" (FDC), dedicated to the "Stamp Day 1960". The visible side features a detailed illustration of a ship at sea, accompanied by a small boat in the foreground, printed in blue, grey, and black tones, typical of commemorative issues of the era.

The "JOURNÉE DU TIMBRE PARIS 12-3-60" postmark is stamped twice on the right side of the envelope, confirming its cancellation date. The inscription "PREMIER JOUR D’ÉMISSION" (First Day of Issue) and the mention "F.D.C." are clearly visible at the top of the document, attesting to its specific philatelic nature. A small blue "Premier Jour" (First Day) stamp also appears at the bottom left.

The envelope is protected by a transparent plastic sleeve, which keeps its surface clean and limits exposure to air and dust. The visible surface shows no tears or significant creases, and the corners appear sharp. A small handwritten insert "20F" is visible on the front, probably an old price or a filing reference.

All visible graphic and textual elements correspond to the codes of French philatelic envelopes issued for special issues, particularly during national events such as Stamp Day.

The typography, the ship's design, and the layout are representative of the postal graphic style of the late 1950s to 1960s in France, highlighting maritime transport and postal history.

Used item, sold as is. The visible side appears in good overall condition, under plastic protection. The postmarks, inscriptions, and illustration remain clear and legible.
