Description

This CEF philatelic sheet honors "The Year of the Norman Abbeys" featuring the abbeys of Bernay and Saint-Pierre-sur-Dives. It is a philatelic document published by the CEF network, presented in its original plastic sleeve with side perforations for filing in a specialized binder. The visible side shows a carefully designed presentation, including a detailed historical text on the great eras of religious architecture in Normandy, accompanied by two color photographs: one of the facade of Bernay Abbey, the other of the vaulted interior of St Pierre Dives Abbey.

At the bottom right, a postage stamp with a special illustrated cancellation highlights the commemorative nature of the sheet. The stamp bears the inscription "Abbaye de St Pierre Dives" and is validated by a first-day postmark, an element highly valued in thematic philately. The stamp's visual perfectly matches the theme, depicting architectural elements of the abbey.

The text printed on the left, written in French, traces the history and importance of these abbeys in Norman heritage, particularly evoking the architectural evolution of Norman Gothic. The whole is framed by a golden fillet, adding an elegant touch to the presentation. The plastic sleeve shows the reference "N° 506 du catalogue CEF" on the left edge, proof of the original CEF edition.

The sheet is in excellent visual condition on the exposed side: no visible stains, creases, or discoloration. The colors of the photos are clear and the text is perfectly legible. No noticeable defects are visible on the visible part.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. Neat presentation, original plastic sleeve present and clean. The visible side shows no significant signs of wear.
