Description

This CEF philatelic sheet features a theme dedicated to "Venetian Carnival in Paris". The composition highlights a central illustration, signed by Philippe Favier, depicting a masked character in carnival costume, leaning against a large white mask with expressive features. The dominant colors are vivid red, black, and subtle shades of yellow and blue, giving the whole a festive yet mysterious atmosphere, characteristic of Venetian carnivals revisited in Paris.

Around the illustration, the sheet includes a detailed explanatory text on the history and symbolism of the carnival, written in French, as well as the title "Carnaval Venise à Paris" (Venetian Carnival in Paris) at the top of the page. On the right side, there is a reproduction of the stamp issued for the event, as well as a special illustrated cancellation with the "Carnaval de Venise à Paris" (Venetian Carnival in Paris) seal.

The paper used has a smooth appearance, typical of CEF philatelic sheets, with clear printing and regular margins. The visible numbering "2604" at the bottom left and the mention "N° 798 du catalogue CEF" (No. 798 of the CEF catalog) on the left edge attest to the edition and facilitate referencing for specialized research.

The entire sheet is structured to offer both documentary and artistic value, combining historical text, contemporary illustration, and official philatelic elements. The visible lateral perforations indicate a format compatible with specialized philatelic binders.

The sheet is presented on a neutral background, which highlights its graphic details and facilitates the examination of its general condition.
