Description

This CEF philatelic sheet celebrates the centenary of the founding of the École des Hautes Études Commerciales (HEC) in 1981. The presentation is meticulous, inserted into a transparent plastic sleeve with side perforations, typical of CEF editions intended for preservation and display in a binder. The visible side features a graphic composition with colorful geometric shapes (blue, green, yellow, gray, white), centered around the large HEC logo, accompanied by a vignette and an official commemorative stamp, postmarked with the "HEC 12 juin 1981 Jouy-en-Josas" first-day cancellation.

The sheet is framed by a golden border, highlighting the main illustration and the text area. The upper part displays the title in capital letters: "CENTENAIRE DE LA FONDATION DE L'ÉCOLE DES HAUTES ÉTUDES COMMERCIALES" (CENTENARY OF THE FOUNDING OF THE SCHOOL OF ADVANCED COMMERCIAL STUDIES). To the right, the stamp reproduces the HEC logo, while the First Day cancellation is clear and legible. This type of presentation is characteristic of philatelic souvenir sheets published by CEF (Courrier d’Entreprise Philatélique), recognized in the field of French philately.

Two blocks of black printed text occupy the lower part, tracing the history and influence of the HEC school, from its creation in 1881 to its major developments in the 20th century. The text is fully legible on the front side, and the signature "J. Combet" appears under the illustration, probably indicating the artist or designer of the visual.

On the left margin, the mentions "N° 580 du catalogue CEF" (No. 580 in the CEF catalog) and "Tirage de l'émission limité à 35 800 exemplaires" (Issue limited to 35,800 copies) as well as the copy number "14730" are clearly visible, attesting to the limited series of this edition. The original transparent protective sleeve is in good apparent condition and allows for easy handling without direct contact with the sheet.

This CEF sheet is a sought-after philatelic item for the theme of prestigious French schools, educational commemorations, and First Day stamps. The set has a professional finish, suitable for archiving or display in a philatelic album.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. The visible side shows no major apparent defects: the plastic sleeve, the sheet, the printing, the stamp, and the cancellation are clear and clean. No visible tears, creases, or stains on the photographed area.
