Description

This CEF (Courrier d’Entreprise à Faciale – Corporate Mail with Face Value) philatelic sheet highlights a special issue from the Council of Europe, dated August 31, 1985, on the theme "One Youth – One Future". It is a presentation document in a perforated plastic sleeve, typical of CEF issues, with three colorful postage stamps (blue, green, red) affixed on the left, all cancelled with a "First Day – Strasbourg" postmark.

The main visual on the right features an illustration signed by François Thouvenin, depicting a broken shell from which a stylized silhouette emerges, symbolizing renewal and dynamism, in connection with the theme of European youth. The image, with its vibrant colors and graphic style characteristic of the 1980s, emphasizes the desire for a new generation to emerge.

The stamps display face values of 1.00, 2.20, and an additional value, all associated with the event of the International Youth Year. The text printed at the bottom of the sheet details the context of the issue and mentions the European Youth Week organized in Strasbourg in July 1985.

The sheet is preserved in a transparent three-hole punched sleeve, typical of CEF editions, with the print run reference visible at the bottom left (No. 4717). The document features clear printing, vivid colors, and a neat layout, consistent with the style of commemorative philatelic sheets.

The side notes specify the issue number (No. 283 bis), the CEF model, and the limited print run of 33,800 copies. Manufacturing and publishing are handled by the philatelic office of France and Spain, information readable on the edge.

Condition

Used item sold as is. The visible side shows no major apparent defects: clean print, legible stamps and postmark, clear plastic sleeve. The overall condition is consistent with careful preservation for this type of philatelic document.
