Description

This illustrated philatelic sheet, published by CEF (Covers Événements Philatéliques), is dedicated to Édouard Herriot (1872-1957). The main part features a stylized black and white portrait of Édouard Herriot on the right, a stamp with his effigy (100 francs), and a perfectly legible commemorative cancellation. On the left, a coat of arms adorned with three golden fleurs-de-lis on a blue background and a silver lion on a red background recalls Herriot's strong connection to Lyon.

The sheet also includes a photograph of the Place des Terreaux in Lyon, highlighting the city's importance in Herriot's career. Several biographical paragraphs detail his roles as Deputy, President of the Council, Senator, Mayor of Lyon, and Academician. The texts are printed in black on a white background, with a structured layout, typical of CEF productions.

The visible side shows a sheet inserted into a transparent plastic sleeve, perforated on the left side for binder filing. The mention "N° 428 du Catalogue CEF" appears on the side margin, confirming the official edition. The individual number 09931 is located at the bottom left, indicating a limited print run. The top edge of the sheet shows the mention "Tirage de l’émission limité à 13 800 exemplaires" (Print run limited to 13,800 copies).

All visible elements (stamp, postmark, texts, illustration, coat of arms) are clear and well-preserved. The sheet is characterized by a neat presentation, suitable for thematic philately and enthusiasts of French political history. The plastic sleeve helps preserve the document's condition.

The dominant colors are black, white, blue, red, and gold. The printing is of high quality, with precise details on the photograph, coat of arms, and portrait. No major flaws are apparent on the visible side.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. The visible side of the sheet and the plastic sleeve are in very good apparent condition, without any visible folds or stains. The print run number and inscriptions are perfectly legible.
