This CEF philatelic sheet honors physicist Louis de Broglie and the discovery of wave mechanics. The presentation includes a Europa stamp with a face value of 3.70 francs, illustrated with a colorful motif featuring the formula λ = h/mv, in direct reference to de Broglie's work. The stamp is canceled with a "Les découvertes Europa - 17.5.97 Strasbourg" first day cover, accompanied by an elegant mathematical formula and a stylized signature.

The sheet is made of white cardboard, with quality printing and a gold border around the reproduction of a stylized portrait of Louis de Broglie, a work by Jacques Jubert (indicated at the bottom of the page). The portrait occupies the right side of the sheet, in blue, black, purple, and white tones, while the left side features the affixed and canceled stamp as well as an explanatory text detailing the history of wave mechanics. The text is printed in black, easily readable, and covers the evolution of light theories up to Louis de Broglie's work in the 1920s.

On the left margin of the sheet, official mentions from the CEF (La Société des Émissions Philatéliques Officielles des PTT) are found, along with the sheet's reference (N° 1198 B, CEF stamp), the mention "Limited Edition," as well as the individual number 2147, proving its limited edition. Three perforations are visible on the left side, allowing for insertion into a philatelic album.

The sheet has a neat appearance, with a smooth surface and crisp corners. No major defects, stains, or creases are visible on the photographed side. The whole highlights the scientific theme, both through the stamp's iconography and the quality of the written and graphic presentation.
