This CEF philatelic sheet honors the Lorraine artist Jacques Callot, a major figure in 17th-century engraving. The visible side presents a harmonious composition combining explanatory text, illustration, and philatelic elements. On the left, a long biographical text traces the life and work of Jacques Callot, with a clear mention of the artist's birthplace and date of birth in Nancy, as well as details about his career and artistic achievements.

To the right of the text, the space is occupied by a contemporary illustration by Pierre Forget, depicting a stylized portrait of Jacques Callot surrounded by figures in the background, in grey and sepia tones.
