Description

This illustrated philatelic sheet, published by the CEF (Cercle des Émissions de France), is dedicated to the National Stamp Day. It honors Rembrandt, whose colorized portrait occupies the right side of the sheet, set against an engraving depicting a typical Dutch urban landscape, with gabled houses and a lively port with sailboats. The entire piece is framed with a golden border. The lower part of the sheet features an explanatory text about Rembrandt's life and work, printed in black on a white background, as well as a reproduction of the stamp associated with this issue, postmarked with the "Journée du Timbre 59 Lille" cancellation.

The layout is meticulous, with a detailed central illustration and a striking contrast between the black engraving and the colorized portrait. On the left, the mention "N° 672 du catalogue CEF" is visible, along with the manual numbering "9661," indicating a limited edition, visible in the bottom left. The sheet also features a lateral perforation, typical of CEF presentations, allowing it to be classified in a philatelic album.

The visible part of the stamp, at the bottom right, reproduces the engraving motif and Rembrandt's portrait, with a clear "LILLE" postmark. The printing highlights the graphic details and the balance between text and illustration, characteristic of modern CEF sheets.

The sheet is presented flat, with good legibility of the main information and a clean visual appearance. No defects, creases, or stains are visible in the photographed area.

Condition

Used item sold as is, without guarantee of completeness for non-visible sides. The presented side appears in very good condition, with no notable defects.
