Description

This CEF philatelic sheet highlights the theme of La Francophonie, with a central illustration by Charles Bridoux, graphic designer and stamp artist. The visual features a modern and graphic composition of stylized profiles, arranged in shades of blue, gray, and red on a white background. Each color band evokes the diversity and unity of the Francophone world. The whole is structured in three horizontal registers, each declined in a distinct chromatic range.

On the right side of the sheet, a printed text titled "LA FRANCOPHONIE" details the history and role of the French language through the centuries. The text is perfectly legible and provides a historical, cultural, and geopolitical context of Francophonie. At the bottom right is a commemorative "1er JOUR" (First Day) postmark dated January 15, 1985, in Paris, accompanied by a stamp matching the main illustration and a specific cancellation featuring the stylized profile motif.

The sheet is published by CEF, as indicated by the mention "N° 758 du catalogue CEF" visible in the upper left margin. The reference 12757 appears at the bottom left. The printing shows great clarity, with no discoloration or apparent defects on the visible side. The text "L’illustration a été confiée à Charles BRIDOUX" (The illustration was entrusted to Charles BRIDOUX) is indicated below the illustration.

The meticulous presentation, typical of CEF editions, highlights the graphic quality and the importance of the subject matter. This type of sheet, often called a first-day cover (FDC), combines a stamp, postmark, and explanatory support, thus bringing together several aspects of contemporary philately.

The visible side shows no signs of wear, pronounced creases, or major alterations. The colors remain vibrant, with a marked contrast between the blue, gray, and red areas, which gives the whole a strong and easily recognizable visual identity.

Condition

Used item sold as is. The visible side, as shown in the photo, is in very good visual condition, with no notable defects.
