AFW - Antique France Worldwide
Description
This CEF philatelic sheet is dedicated to the "European Single Market". On the main part, it features a colorful work by Niki de Saint-Phalle, illustrating a stylized figure surrounded by golden stars on a midnight blue background, with the mention "European Single Market". To the left, a matching stamp reproduces this illustration, accompanied by a "First Day" postmark dated 21.1.1992 in Paris, marked "MARCHÉ UNIQUE EUROPÉEN".
The sheet is printed on white paper, with a black border framing the composition. In the upper left, the print run number "4055" appears, along with the mention "N° 1103 of the CEF catalog". On the side margin, the CEF publisher's information and printing details are found, indicating a limited print run.
The lower part of the sheet features a long historical text in French, tracing the major steps in the construction of the European single market, from the first post-war initiatives to the Maastricht Treaty in 1992. The whole is presented in a meticulous layout, typical of CEF commemorative sheets, with particular attention paid to the clarity of information and the enhancement of the illustration.
The stamp features a blue background dotted with yellow stars, a stylized female figure in motion, and the face value "2.50". The "First Day" postmark is clear and perfectly legible, adding additional philatelic appeal to the set.
This sheet is perforated on the left (3 perforations), allowing it to be inserted into a collector's album. The observable general condition is very good: the colors are vibrant, the margins clean, no visible defects are to be reported on the presented side.
Condition
Used item, sold as shown in the photo. The colors and printing are well preserved, with no visible defects on the exposed side.
