Description

This CEF philatelic sheet honors the "L'Entraide Strasbourg" issue, dedicated to the Red Cross, featuring artwork by Tomi Ungerer. The visible side presents a large illustration of three stylized birds with yellow beaks perched on wires, against a gray background, with the red inscription "L’ENTRAIDE STRASBOURG" in the lower right. Alongside it, an explanatory text details the historical role of postage stamps in national mutual aid as well as the Red Cross's commitment in Strasbourg. In the lower right of the sheet, a matching French postage stamp reproduces the bird motif, accompanied by a red commemorative postmark "CROIX-ROUGE FRANÇAISE 25041 STRASBOURG" dated May 18, 1992, as well as the mention "Série Croix-Rouge" (Red Cross Series).

The sheet is color-printed on white paper, with a black frame highlighting the presentation. The whole is neatly arranged, typical of CEF (Connaissance et Étude de la Philatélie) issues, with particular attention paid to legibility and enhancing the stamp and its context. The left part of the sheet indicates a limited edition, here numbered 4687, guaranteeing a restricted print run.

The main illustration, signed by Tomi Ungerer, adds an artistic dimension to this sheet, while the presence of an explanatory text enriches the understanding of the theme addressed. The stamp, in standard format, displays the mention "RÉPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE," the face value "2.50 + 0.60," and the inscription "CROIX-ROUGE" on the vignette. The clearly legible first-day postmark attests to the authenticity of the philatelic issue.

This sheet is presented in clear plastic, ensuring its protection. No visible defects, scratches, or creases are observable on the front. The print run number "4687" is clearly inscribed in the lower left, confirming the limited edition.
