Philatelic sheet from the CEF Catalogue, dedicated to the "Les Hommes Célèbres" (Famous Men) series. This sheet highlights two French personalities: Admiral de Coligny and Ernest Renan. It features a meticulous layout, typical of CEF editions, with color illustrations of each historical figure, detailed biographical text, and reproductions of portraits.

The upper part of the sheet is dedicated to Gaspard de Coligny, with a colorized portrait on the left, biographical text in the center, and two stamps on the right. The two stamps are identical, displaying a face value of 0.50 franc, and bear a clearly legible round cancellation: "AMIRAL DE COLIGNY 1572 – PREMIER JOUR – 12.2.1973 – PARIS" (Admiral de Coligny 1572 – FIRST DAY – 12.2.1973 – PARIS).

The lower part pays homage to Ernest Renan, with a sepia photograph on the right and an explanatory text on the left. A stamp bearing Renan's likeness (face value 0.50 franc) is affixed on the left, accompanied by a cancellation "PREMIER JOUR – 28.2.1963 – TRÉGUIER" (FIRST DAY – 28.2.1963 – TRÉGUIER), directly related to the sheet's theme.

The sheet is mounted on a white cardboard backing, perforated on the left for binder filing. The mention "ÉDITIONS CEF" and the individual number "18360" appear at the bottom left, guaranteeing the authenticity of this limited edition. The sheet has a rectangular format, with no dimensions indicated on the visible side.

The dominant colors are white, black, purple, and sepia, with clear prints and an elegant presentation. The texts are perfectly legible, and the "Premier Jour" (First Day) cancellations add significant philatelic value to this sheet.
