Description

This CEF philatelic souvenir sheet highlights the famous "Marianne" and "Sabine" stamp types issued in France and reproduced here in a neat presentation. On the upper part, there is a series of "Marianne" stamps from different issues (Dulac 1944, Decaris 1960, Gandon 1946, Muller 1956, Cocteau, NEF, Cheffer, Béquet), each with its specific colors and face values. The stylized portraits are faithful to the originals, with each stamp carefully printed to reproduce the details of the effigies and graphics of the era.

The lower part of the sheet features the "Sabine" type from 1979, identifiable by its characteristic design based on Jacques-Louis David, here presented in several colors. Three Sabine stamps are canceled with a round postmark dated 1979, marking their postal authenticity in the context of this commemorative issue. All the stamps are integrated into a light blue frame, enhanced on the right by an enlarged reproduction of a blue "France 0.70" stamp showing a profile face.

The sheet is inserted into a transparent plastic sleeve, typical of CEF (Connaissance et Étude de la Philatélie Française) productions, with side perforations for filing in a binder. In the margin, one can read "N° 510 Spécial de catalogue CEF," as well as the mention "Limited edition of 20,000, including 11,000 offset, 9,000 silk," and the individual number "5466."

The printing quality of the sheet highlights the fineness of the lines and the contrast of the colors, offering a visual panorama of the iconographic evolution of French stamps. The entire set is designed for conservation, with a neat presentation that allows appreciation of every graphic and typographical detail.

Condition

This CEF sheet is used and sold as is. The visible side shows good overall condition, with no major apparent defects. The plastic sleeve shows slight traces of use consistent with storage in a binder.

Did you know? CEF sheets are produced in limited editions, often to commemorate iconic issues or series of French philately. The "Sabine" type was designed in 1977 by Pierre Gandon, based on a work by David, and remains a classic of French postal stamps, used from 1977 to 1982.
