Description

This philatelic sheet, published by the CEF (Centrale d'Édition Philatélique), features a commemorative illustration of the Grande Chartreuse Monastery, produced on the occasion of the monastery's 900th anniversary (1084-1984). The visible side shows a stylized dark green drawing depicting the monastery, surmounted by the mountains of the Chartreuse massif, accompanied by a large fir tree entirely composed of handwritten texts. The composition is framed by a golden fillet, giving the whole a neat and elegant appearance.

A 1.70 franc postage stamp is integrated at the bottom left of the sheet; it features the monastery motif and bears a First Day postmark "1084-1984 – Monastère de la Grande Chartreuse – Isère". The whole is signed by the artist Jacques Jubert, whose name appears under the fir tree, with the mention "painter engraver creator of the issued figurine illustrated the sheet".

The sheet is mounted on a white cardboard page with a wood texture, bearing on the left margin the edition references ("N° 753 du catalogue CEF") as well as the printing and limited edition mentions. The individual copy number "11306" is visible at the bottom left. The page also has two perforations for binder filing.

The dominant colors are dark green and black on a white background, with sharp and precise prints. The whole highlights both the architectural heritage and the natural aspect of the Grande Chartreuse site, while emphasizing the philatelic event through the presence of the stamp and the associated postmark.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. The visible side of the sheet appears in very good condition, with no apparent defects, stains or folds visible in the photograph.
