Description

This illustrated sheet, published by the CEF (Connaissance et Etude de la Philatélie), pays tribute to Pierre Cot (1895-1977), a prominent figure in French political and aeronautical history. The visible side features a large color photograph of Pierre Cot, accompanied at the bottom by an illustration of several military aircraft. The whole is enhanced by a meticulous presentation, typical of philatelic commemorative sheets. Part of the biographical text details Pierre Cot's career, notably his commitment as Minister of Air and his role in France's air defense.

In the bottom left, it is specified that the illustration for this sheet was created by Jean-Paul Véret-Lemarinier, graphic illustrator and stamp designer. To the right, a reproduction of the stamp dedicated to Pierre Cot is integrated, with a commemorative postmark representing the profile of the character and the mention "CEF 1895 Pierre Cot 1977".

The whole features a white background with a thin border, an airy layout, and black printed text. The sheet is perforated on the left (two holes), suggesting a design suitable for filing in a philatelic binder. The graphic and textual elements are clear and legible, giving the object documentary and aesthetic value for enthusiasts of thematic philately or aviation history.

The sheet bears the numbering "1322" and "11772" on the visible edge, allowing for precise identification within the series published by the CEF. The side mentions recall the origin and the reference to the CEF catalog.

Also note the presence of a secondary portrait of Pierre Cot, inserted next to the stamp, as well as the specific first-day issue postmark. The item is in good visual condition on the presented side, with no major apparent defects.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. The sheet has a clean front, with no noticeable signs of wear or visible creases on the illustrated part. The printing and inscriptions are clear and well-preserved.
