Description

This CEF philatelic sheet honors Pierre Cot (1895-1977), a French politician, through a meticulous presentation typical of CEF editions. On the visible side, a large colorized photograph of Pierre Cot, bust-length, wearing round glasses and a polka-dotted bow tie, occupies the left part. Below this portrait, a row of military aircraft is depicted, highlighting his role in French aviation.

The right side of the sheet features a detailed biographical text tracing Pierre Cot's career, from his beginnings in Chambéry to his involvement in the Resistance and aviation. The layout is clear, with a black frame and sober typography. A second, smaller black and white portrait appears on the right, accompanied by a reproduction of the stamp bearing Pierre Cot's effigy, canceled with the first-day postmark "COISE-ST-JEAN-PIED-GAUTHIER" dated 09/20/1997.

On the left margin, we can distinguish the mentions "Éditions CEF", "Club Philatélique Français de l’Entier", as well as the CEF catalog number 801 and the handwritten serial number 1323, indicating a limited edition. The sheet is inserted in a transparent sleeve, which protects the document and facilitates its consultation.

The whole presents sober colors: off-white background, black framing, black printed texts, and black and white stamps. The main illustration is signed by Jean-Paul Véret-Lemarinier, a renowned graphic designer and illustrator in the philatelic field. The sheet shows no apparent signs of creasing, tearing, or chipping on the visible side, and the print retains all its sharpness.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. The visible side is in excellent overall condition, with no noticeable defects on the print or the support. The protective sleeve is also visible and clean.
