Description

This philatelic sheet, published by CEF, features a meticulous layout dedicated to the Council of Europe in Strasbourg. The visible side showcases a central color illustration of Strasbourg Cathedral, a stylized map of Europe, and an emblematic modern building. The ensemble is enhanced with touches of violet and gray, as well as a simple frame. The inscription "LE CONSEIL DE L’EUROPE" (THE COUNCIL OF EUROPE) appears in capital letters below the main illustration, emphasizing the sheet's theme.

Two postage stamps are affixed to the upper left, one green and one blue, accompanied by "First Day" postmarks dated November 9, 1994, in Strasbourg. On the right, a third red stamp, also postmarked on the same day, completes the set. The postmarks bear the inscription "Conseil de l’Europe / Strasbourg" and architectural representations.

The sheet includes a detailed explanatory text about the history and role of the Council of Europe, in French, printed in black on a white background. At the bottom right, it is mentioned that the illustration was created by Eugène Lacaque, a painter and stamp designer. The sheet is presented in a transparent plastic sleeve with perforations on the left side, typical of CEF editions for binder storage.

The outer border bears the reference "N° 760 du catalogue CEF" (No. 760 from the CEF catalog) and the individual numbering "9811," visible on the left edge. The item is in very good visual condition, with no apparent creases or signs of use on the visible side.
