Description

This document is a philatelic sheet published by the CEF (Connaissance et Étude de la Philatélie Française), dedicated to Leconte de Lisle. The visible side features a carefully composed layout integrating a color printed portrait of Leconte de Lisle, a detailed biography in French, as well as an official French postage stamp depicting the same figure, canceled with a specific first day cover postmark "Leconte de Lisle – Saint-Paul" dated 1986.

The sheet is rectangular, bordered by a golden line. The left part includes a printed text detailing the life and work of Leconte de Lisle, a major 19th-century poet. The stamp, positioned at the top left, is accompanied by its First Day Cancellation, a sought-after element in thematic philately and for collectors of illustrated philatelic documents.

The artistic portrait, reproduced on the right side, is printed on satin-finish paper. The dominant colors are black, brown, and flesh tones for the portrait, while the text and philatelic elements stand out in black and purple on a white background. The whole is distinguished by its elegant and sober presentation, characteristic of CEF emissions.

The stamp bears the inscription "Leconte de Lisle" and "France", with a purple print corresponding to the commemorative postmark. The biographical text is fully legible, and the entire sheet is well-centered on quality paper, with no handwritten inscriptions or visible defects on the presented side.

Condition

This CEF philatelic sheet is used and sold as is. The visible side shows no notable defects, tears, or apparent folds. The corners are clean, and the paper surface appears clean and well-preserved.
