Description

Authentic handwritten letter dated August 24, 1944, written in blue ink on a sheet of straight-edged paper. The handwritten text occupies the entire visible surface. The cursive writing is regular, typical of private correspondence during the Second World War period. The letter is signed at the bottom right, with a personal salutation. The header clearly states the date and location: "Les Barraux, August 24, 1944".

The paper shows a slight patina, visible on the surface, which is characteristic of period documents. No watermark or manufacturer's mark is visible on this side. The corners and edges show some signs of handling, with no apparent tears on the visible area.

The handwritten text, although partially legible, evokes personal and family themes within the context of the end of the war. Allusions to censorship, the situation in Marseille and Toulouse, and correspondence between loved ones can be distinguished, giving this document a strong historical and human dimension.

The letter is placed in front of a row of old books, on a raw wooden stand, which highlights its archival nature and authenticity. The ink used is an intense blue, with no major smudges visible on the front side.

This handwritten document is a direct testament to daily life in France at the end of the Second World War. The handwriting and epistolary style are representative of private correspondence from that era.

Condition

Used item, sold as is. Signs of wear and patina visible on the paper, with no visible tears on the presented side. The blue ink remains clearly legible.
