Old handwritten administrative letter dated 1813, written in brown ink on antique paper, with printed fiscal stamps and beautiful cursive handwriting characteristic of early 19th-century documents.

Description

Old handwritten document on laid paper, presented folded, with writing in brown ink on several sides. The piece retains a strong administrative character, with notary mentions, deed formulas, signatures, and accounting notes on the reverse.

Printed fiscal stamps bearing the effigy of the French Republic are visible, including a 75-centime stamp and a 25-centime stamp on the pages. The whole presents a layout typical of handwritten documents from this period: wide margins, tight cursive lines, flourishes, additions, and control notations.

Context

French administrative document from the 19th century, dated 1813. This type of document is part of early 19th-century notarial and administrative practice, where acts were handwritten on fiscal stamped paper, with regular cursive script and codified legal formulas.

The document offers an interesting material testimony to French civil administration, at the crossroads of notarial writing, fiscal paper, and documentary practices inherited from the revolutionary and imperial periods.

Condition

Used antique document, sold as is. Yellowed paper with age patina, usage folds, foxing, browning, small fragilities and irregularities at the edges. The writing remains largely legible in places, with more faded or blurred areas depending on the pages.
