Description

Old handwritten document consisting of sheets written recto and verso in brown ink, in a beautiful French administrative script. The piece features a structured layout, with wide margins, close lines, numerical mentions, numbered articles, and signatures or paraphs at the end of the text.

A 75-centime fiscal stamp is visible, as well as a legible handwritten date: 3.10.1814. The document retains a brown textile cord, a characteristic element of administrative or notarial documents briefly bound for filing purposes.

Context

Dated 1814, this manuscript is part of French administrative practices from the early 19th century, a period when acts, official correspondence, inventories, and procedural documents were still largely handwritten on stamped paper. The presence of the fiscal stamp and the structured wording of the text emphasize its administrative nature.

Condition

Used antique document, sold as is. Paper showing a natural patina, folds, slight foxing, small signs of use and uneven edges due to age and handling. The ink remains well-preserved, with varying legibility depending on the areas and photographs. The old cord is preserved with signs of wear from use.
