Illustrated First Day Cover (FDC), dedicated to Bayard, one of the "Great Names in History". This philatelic envelope features a colorful illustration depicting Chevalier Bayard in armor, sword in hand, with a medieval castle in the background. The graphic work occupies the left side and highlights the historical and heroic style of the character.

The right side of the envelope displays a stamp dedicated to Bayard, canceled with a "First Day" postmark dated November 8, 1966, in Pontcharra (38), an emblematic location linked to Bayard. The postmark includes a stylized portrait of the knight and explicitly mentions "PREMIER JOUR D'ÉMISSION / FIRST DAY COVER". Both the stamp and the postmark are perfectly visible on the front.

The envelope is protected by a transparent plastic sleeve. A "12F" label is affixed to the visible side, likely for pricing or reference. The item is well-preserved, with no visible tears or stains in the photo. The surface of the envelope shows some creases or reflections due to the plastic protection.

The typography "GRANDS NOMS DE L'HISTOIRE" and "BAYARD" is clearly legible at the top left and bottom left of the envelope. The illustration and postmark add particular interest to this piece, typical of sought-after First Day Covers in thematic and historical philately.
