Description

Illustrated First Day Cover (FDC) dedicated to Pierre Fidèle Bretonneau, visible on the front. The envelope features a blue and beige illustration depicting a portrait of Pierre Bretonneau, accompanied by a stylized landscape. The inscriptions state: "PREMIER JOUR D'ÉMISSION HISTORIQUE" (HISTORIC FIRST DAY OF ISSUE), "FDC", and the issue number "No 455". At the bottom left, it mentions "Pierre Fidèle BRETONNEAU 1778 Saint-Georges-sur-Cher 1862 Passy".

An official postage stamp bearing the effigy of Pierre Bretonneau is affixed to the right side of the envelope, accompanied by a round black postmark "PREMIER JOUR – SAINT-GEORGES-SUR-CHER – 17 FEVR. 68" (date of issue).
