First Day Cover (FDC), illustrated and franked, issued for the 25th anniversary of the Liberation. This commemorative envelope highlights the French squadron "Normandie-Niemen" which fought on the German-Soviet front between 1942 and 1945. The visible side features a colorful illustration of pilots and planes in action, with graphic details evoking the Second World War and Franco-Soviet cooperation. The aerial scene is enhanced by two red stars, symbols of Soviet aviation, and the French tricolor roundel on the main aircraft.

In the upper right corner is an old blue stamp from the French Republic, with a face value of 0.45, depicting aviators in front of planes in flight, against a winter landscape. The stamp bears the inscription "1943 Orël-Smolensk, 1944 Vitebsk-Koenigsberg, Normandie-Niemen" and is accompanied by two postmarks "PREMIER JOUR D’ÉMISSION PARIS 18 OCT. 1969" (First Day of Issue Paris Oct. 18, 1969).

The left side of the envelope features the title "25e ANNIVERSAIRE DE LA LIBÉRATION" (25th ANNIVERSARY OF THE LIBERATION) in red, as well as a detailed caption: "Escadrille française “NORMANDIE-NIEMEN” sur le front Germano-Soviétique (1942-1945)" (French Squadron “NORMANDIE-NIEMEN” on the German-Soviet Front (1942-1945)). The overall design is typical of the late 1960s, combining historical illustration and commemorative graphics.

The surface of the envelope is white, with no major visible defects on the presented side. The colors of the illustration are well preserved, with clear printing and precise contours. No folds, stains, or tears are apparent in the visible area. The printing of the stamp and postmarks is complete and legible.

This type of First Day Cover (FDC) is sought after for its documentary and historical value. This is an official commemorative document, published in 1969 in Paris by "Editions J.F.", as indicated in the lower left margin.

Used item sold as is. Good overall condition on the visible side, illustration and stamp well preserved, clear postmarks.
