Description

Ancient work presented here: a law book entitled "Le Nouveau Parfait Notaire, ou la Science des Notaires" (The New Perfect Notary, or the Science of Notaries), Volume II, second revised and corrected edition, dated 1807. The main author mentioned is C.-J. de Ferrière, dean of the doctor-regents of the Faculty of Law in Paris, with an update by A.-J. Massé, notary in Paris and professor of notarial law. The title page specifies harmonization with the Civil Code and the law of 25 Ventôse Year 11 concerning the organization of notarial practice.

The visible side shows an old title page, typical of the early 19th century, with period typography and a sober layout. The mention of the publisher "GARNERY, libraire, rue de Seine" and the printer "DE L’IMPRIMERIE DE BAUDOUIN" in Paris is clearly legible.

The sheet shows a marked patina, with numerous foxing (brown spots characteristic of old paper), attesting to its age. The paper, cream to yellowish in color, shows irregular edges, typical of prints from this era. No decoration or illustration is visible on this page.

This volume is specifically indicated as "Tome II" (Volume II). No other volume or element is visible in the provided image. It is an authentic antique legal book, originally used for notarial practice in the early 19th century.

The layout and printing style conform to French legal works published under the First Empire, with a hierarchical structure of titles and subtitles, and precise indications of the edition and year of printing.

Condition

Used book, sold as is. Marked foxing and age patina on the visible page. Other parts of the work are not visible in the photo.

Did you know? "Le Parfait Notaire" was one of the reference manuals for the French notarial profession in the 19th century, regularly reissued to adapt to changes in law, particularly after the promulgation of the Civil Code in 1804. These works served as a practical guide for drawing up notarial deeds and transmitting legal rules throughout France.
