Description

This old booklet titled L'Homme Communiste (The Communist Man) is a period document dating from the 1st quarter of 1944, clearly visible on the cover. It is a political propaganda publication, as indicated by the mention "Cahiers du Communisme" (Communist Notebooks) and the explicit reference to the struggle for the liberation of the homeland, in the context of World War II. The author, Jacques Duclos, Secretary of the French Communist Party, is mentioned at the bottom of the cover page.

The cover has a patinated beige hue, typical of old papers, with inscriptions printed in black. An introductory text specifies that this booklet was "published and distributed on French territory during clandestinity by militants worthy of the great heroes of Liberty and martyrs of the French cause". The period price, "2 francs", is also indicated at the bottom left.

There are two identical handwritten annotations "B.B" in pen or pencil on the upper part of the cover, an element that attests to prior use and adds an additional historical dimension to this document. No other distinctive signs or decorations are visible on this side.

The object has a rectangular format, typical of brochures or pamphlets of the period, with slightly rounded corners and visible signs of wear on the edges, testifying to its handling and age. The texture of the paper shows slight undulations, characteristic of clandestine or economically produced publications of the time.

The photograph highlights the booklet placed on an old wooden surface, with a row of bound books in the background, emphasizing the heritage and historical aspect of the object.

Condition

This booklet is a used item, sold as is. Signs of wear, handling marks, and handwritten annotations are present on the visible cover. The patina and slight discolorations are consistent with the age and clandestine nature of this type of document.
