Description

This lot includes a set of specialized philatelic magazines, visible in the photo, mainly from the "Timbroscopie" and "L'Écho de la Timbrologie" collections. The covers illustrate various themes related to stamps and their history, with a layout typical of the 1990s and 2000s: bright colors, thick lettering titles, photographs, and reproductions of old and recent stamps.

At least six issues of "Timbroscopie" are distinguishable, recognizable by their yellow logo on a blue or red background, as well as several editions of "L'Écho de la Timbrologie", some of which feature special reports (e.g., "Prendre un enfant par la main" (Taking a Child by the Hand), "Disneyland", "Jeanne d'Arc et le timbre de 1929" (Joan of Arc and the 1929 Stamp)). The magazines cover various subjects on their covers: postal history, special issues, series analyses, philatelic innovations, and spotlights on key personalities or events in the world of stamps.

The visuals display iconic stamps (French Empire, Marianne, thematic series, foreign stamps) and illustrations related to philately, sometimes accompanied by small insets or competitions. The titles are clear and the layouts dynamic, typical of specialized press from the late 20th century.

Some issues stand out with thematic reports: "L'incroyable histoire des timbres d'espionnage" (The Incredible Story of Spy Stamps), "Les bureaux indochinois en Chine" (Indochinese Offices in China), or "Monsieur de La Fontaine, un homme timbré" (Monsieur de La Fontaine, a Crazed Man – also a pun on "timbré" meaning "stamped"). Seasonal topics ("Noël" (Christmas), "Salon d'Automne" (Autumn Exhibition)) and educational issues ("Initiation", "Comment poster ses vœux de Noël" (How to Mail Your Christmas Wishes)) are also noted.

The magazines are presented flat, fanned out, allowing the front of each issue to be observed. The dominant colors are blue, red, yellow, and beige, with offset printing typical of the period. The main titles and subtitles are clearly legible, adorned with illustrations of stamps and drawings related to philately.

Condition

Used items, sold as-is. Covers show moderate signs of wear, typical of normal use for magazines of this era (small marks, corners sometimes slightly blunted, no major tears visible on the front).

Did you know? The magazine "L'Écho de la Timbrologie" is one of the oldest French philatelic journals, founded in 1887. It is recognized for the quality of its historical reports and its sharp analyses of stamp issues, serving as a reference in the world of French-speaking philately.
