Lot of France Airmail Europa aviation cancelled stamps philately
AFW - Antique France Worldwide
Description
This lot consists of twenty-four French postage stamps, shown in the photo, carefully arranged on a black album page. They feature a variety of emblematic themes, including subjects related to aviation, architecture, history, and European cooperation (Europa series).
Several stamps from the "Poste Aérienne" (Airmail) series are present, illustrating iconic aircraft, seaplanes, flight scenes, or historical figures of French aviation. Notable face values range from 0.30 to 5.00 francs, as well as stamps commemorating major events such as the "First Non-Stop New York – Paris Crossing 1930" or aircraft like the Caravelle or the Concorde.
The lot also includes Europa CEPT stamps, recognizable by their vibrant colors (green, blue, red) and their designs symbolizing European cooperation. Other stamps depict French monuments (Notre-Dame de Paris, Strasbourg Cathedral), historical sites, and prominent figures, with the fine engravings typical of 20th-century French philately.
The stamps display a varied color palette (blue, green, red, violet, brown, gray), with clear prints and detailed illustrations. The majority are canceled, some show partial or complete postmarks, testifying to their postal circulation. The overall visible condition appears correct, with slight traces of use typical for used stamps, without apparent missing parts on the visible side.
Some stamps feature clearly legible inscriptions such as "REPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE," "POSTE AÉRIENNE," "EUROPA CEPT," or mentions related to the event or face value. No major defects are observable on the exposed sides.
Condition
Used items, sold as is. Slight signs of use and visible cancellations, condition consistent with postal circulation. The visible sides show no missing parts or notable tears.
