Description

This lot brings together a varied collection of used stamps of German origin, mainly from the Deutsche Bundespost, Berlin, the DDR (Deutsche Demokratische Republik), and a few stamps of other visible European provenances. The stamps are carefully arranged on a black sheet, perfectly flat, allowing for clear observation of the various designs, colors, and themes represented.

The majority of the stamps feature colorful illustrations and a wide variety of motifs: portraits of historical or cultural figures, iconic buildings (churches, castles, public buildings), transport themes (trains, planes, road traffic), European events, as well as modern graphic compositions. Some stamps display inscriptions such as "Deutsche Bundespost," "Berlin," "DDR," or "Europa," confirming their origin and period of issue.

Several face values are distinguishable, ranging from 5 to 300 (mainly in pfennig and mark), with a predominance of stamps from the 1970s to the 1990s, recognizable by their graphic style, typography, and themes covered. Several postmarks are clear and legible, testifying to their actual postal use. Some older stamps, located at the bottom of the sheet, feature a graphic style typical of the early to mid-20th century, including some from the Deutsches Reich and Leipzig stamps, easily recognizable by their patina and classic style.

The lot is characterized by a beautiful diversity of formats: standard rectangular stamps, vertical or horizontal formats, as well as stamps with colored or illustrated margins. The colors are numerous: red, blue, green, purple, orange, yellow, and black, with monochrome or polychrome prints depending on the issues. Several stamps display precise architectural details or finely engraved portraits.

Social and cultural themes are also noticeable (childhood, health, sport, road safety), including a stamp on preventing drinking and driving ("Kein Alkohol im Straßenverkehr"), or European commemorative issues ("Europa"). The collection offers a representative overview of German philately from the post-war period to reunification, with some Italian incursions and other visible origins.

Condition

The stamps are used, all postmarked, with normal signs of postal wear: visible postmarks, possible handling marks, some slightly marked corners or edges on certain specimens. The entire lot is sold as visible in the photo.
