This old issue of "7 Jours" magazine, dated September 14, 1941, is an authentic testament to the French press during World War II. The cover features a typical layout of the era with a wide red band on the left, the "7 Jours" logo at the top left, and a large title in capital letters: "AU SEUIL DE L’HIVER OÙ EN EST LA GUERRE" (AT THE THRESHOLD OF WINTER, WHERE DOES THE WAR STAND).

The main black and white photograph shows a street scene with two war amputees, father and son, saluting on adapted tricycles, surrounded by flags and spectators. A caption below the image reads: "DEUX MUTILÉS LE PÈRE ET LE FILS PRÊTENT SERMENT (Voir page 13.)" (TWO AMPUTEES, FATHER AND SON, TAKE THE OATH (See page 13.)).
