Description

This antique medal, visible in the photo, is a commemorative piece from the 3rd International Savings Congress held in Paris in 1935. The medal has an irregular octagonal shape, with a silver-colored finish that has a patinated appearance. The relief on the obverse shows a portrait of Benjamin Delessert, identified as "Founder in France of the Savings Banks," accompanied by a hand holding a document. The entire visual is enhanced by the embossed inscription: "IIIᵉ CONGRÈS INTERNATIONAL DE L’ÉPARGNE - PARIS 1935" (3rd INTERNATIONAL SAVINGS CONGRESS - PARIS 1935).

A polychrome coat of arms, located in the lower part, adds a touch of color: it depicts a stylized ship on a red background, surmounted by four white stars on a blue background. The entire medal is presented in a black case with a gold button, clearly visible in the photo, which highlights the piece and facilitates its display.

The bust portrait of Benjamin Delessert is engraved with particular care in the commemorative style of the 1930s. The details of the face and clothing are well-defined, despite a surface showing homogeneous wear and a slight patina, typical of an object from this era. The inscriptions remain clear and perfectly legible.

The reverse of the medal and any additional markings are not visible in the image.
