Description

This Catholic religious pendant is an old medal made of metal with a patinated bronze appearance, in a round shape. On the visible side, it features a detailed relief depicting Christ with open arms, surrounded by two kneeling angels. The bas-relief decoration is particularly refined, with well-defined drapery and anatomical details, giving the whole a great expressiveness typical of religious productions from the early 20th century.

The upper part of the medallion has an integrated, rounded bail, allowing it to be worn as a pendant or easily attached to a chain or cord. The upper rim of the medal bears the Latin inscription in relief "ANNO IVBILAR MCXXXIII MCXXXIV", which refers to a jubilee year, probably the Catholic Jubilee of 1933-1934, explicitly indicated in Roman numerals.

The metal surface shows a natural patina, with areas of wear and darker shades, testifying to its age and handling over time. The patinated appearance gives character to the medal, highlighting the reliefs of the central motif and accentuating the contrast of the details.

The general style, typography, and iconographic composition evoke the religious production of the first half of the 20th century, with a classic treatment of the sacred subject and a refined finish, typical of Catholic commemorative medals from this period.

Old medal in good general condition for its age, with a homogeneous patina and some visible traces of wear on the surface. The reliefs remain clearly legible. Sold second-hand and as is.
