Dinky Toys design drawing Scalextric yellow car
AFW - Antique France Worldwide
Description
This document is a freehand drawing of a racing car, created on a rectangular paper support. The illustration shows a sports car viewed from a three-quarter front angle, with aerodynamic lines reminiscent of iconic 1960s models. The bodywork is colored in bright yellow, adorned with two central black and red stripes running across the hood and roof, and a distinct number "25" inscribed on the hood. Other markings, such as the number "25" on the door, are also visible. Details of the wheels and headlights are carefully sketched in pencil, suggesting a design or preparatory study process.
The graphic style, both precise and free, reveals pencil strokes and shaded areas to accentuate volumes. The general shape of the vehicle recalls classic competition cars, with prominent wheel arches and a low grille. The whole is done on slightly yellowed paper, whose edges show some traces of wear and a slight discoloration on the lower left corner.
In the upper left and right, handwritten annotations "010" and "000" are distinguishable, probably internal references or series indications. No other text or manufacturer's logo is visible on the presented side. The technique used combines graphite pencil for tracing and volume, and colored pencil for the yellow, red, and black areas.
This drawing, referenced in the keywords as "Dinky Toys design plan" and "Scalextric model," suggests a project or sketch intended for the design of a miniature automobile or a model car for the toy world. The overall appearance, the choice of colors, and the presence of numbering recall the graphic codes of miniature car racing circuit models.
The paper support shows a slight patina and some age marks visible in the photo, with no apparent tears on the shown side. The whole remains legible and decorative, ideal for study or documentation around Dinky Toys or Scalextric models.
